How do I install Windows 8.1 to a Brand New Laptop that has Windows 10

I apologise in advance but im a massive novice when it comes to things like this. I just bought a brand new laptop and Windows 10 comes with it which I was aware of, but thought I could install Windows 8.1 Pro. I've already bought a product code and tried to install the 8.1 Iso I burnt onto a disc. How do I exactly go about installing it now? Do I just put the disc in my new computer and run it with Windows 10 already set up? Or should I run the disc before it has started up? If anyone could explain in detail and in as basic terms as possible it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

IF, and only if, your manufacturer has Win 8.1 drivers for your exact model, just make a dvd with Win 8.1, put it into the laptop, and then restart. It should boot to the DVD rather than your Win 10 install, and then all you need to do is click install (not repair).
It's pretty much pointless though, Win 10 is now as stable as 8.1 and has plenty of new features that are better. Quite literally the only thing that's better in 8.1 right now is the ability to have placeholder files in onedrive

This would be the easiest way to revert:
Boot up in Windows 10, go to the start menu then select settings. Click on the update and security icon and then select recovery.
You should see a "Go back to Windows 7" or "Go back to Windows 8.1" option. Click the Get started button to get rid of your Windows 10 install and restore your previous Windows install. Microsoft will ask you why you want to go back.
If it's been over a month — or if you've run the Disk cleanup tool and removed the "Previous Windows installations" files or deleted the C:\Windows.old folder by hand — you'll no longer see this option. Windows 10 appears to automatically remove the old Windows installation files after a month to free up space.
